One Sleep Habit to Ditch

Do you tend to sleep in on the weekends because you didn’t get enough sleep during the week?

Studies show that catching up on sleep over the weekend is more likely to put you at risk for heart disease and doesn’t counteract the harmful effects of not getting enough sleep the rest of the week.

If you want to feel more alert on Monday morning, then pay attention to your sleep patterns on the weekends.

Try the following:

1. Stick to your routine:

Wake up at your usual time (or within 30 mins)

2. Let in a little light –

Keep your blinds or curtains partly open so that the morning sunlight will stimulate your body’s natural circadian response, making it easier to get up.

3. Create a reason to wake up –

Having an enticing weekend morning routine may make it easier to get your day started. What would motivate you on a Saturday morning?

4. Get enough weeknight sleep –

You’ll feel less inclined to sleep in if you’re generally well-rested.

If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, this liposomal sleep spray can help.

If you find yourself frequently needing to sleep in on the weekends, it may be time to prioritize a better weeknight sleep routine.  A good night’s sleep is essential, and inexpensive way to have a significant impact on your long-term health.

Until next time!
